Red colour in Feng shui


Red is a very intense colour and Feng shui rules strongly recommend to apply it wisely. It is better to use red tones in moderate amounts, to have some interior details in red than to paint over the wall in this blaze colour. However, red can affect your home positively if applied to right places.
Red is a symbol of richness, it creates luxurious image to your home. Moreover it provides welcoming atmosphere to your guests. According to Feng shui, red shades in living room or kitchen make those spaces joyful, bring excitement and happiness. Red is also suitable colour for bedroom, but not for children room. If used in wrong place or amount red can provoke anger and be the cause of restlessness. But otherwise, red is colour of sun, joy and life.

Yellow in Feng shui

From the very beginning, yellow was considered as an imperial colour or colour of power. For a long time it was reserved for the China’s emperor and became a symbol of control.
Now yellow colour is used in children rooms or common family spaces. According to Feng shui, this colour sends the message of warmth, motion and friendliness. People who suffer from depression or have self esteem problems are advised to spend more time in natural sun light, because light and warmth stimulates positive thoughts. The yellow colour in interior does the same thing. However, it is suggested not over-use yellow, too much of this colour in the modern interiors can cause anxiety. Brown colour in Feng shui

Rules of Feng shui help to provide harmony and beauty to our homes. According to Feng shui, every colour has certain energy and tone which, if placed in proper space, provides merits not only to certain room but to the people around.
According to Feng shui, brown is element of Wood. Along with green it brings health and well being to the house. Brown is perfect colour for places which need more stability or there is lack of security. Thus brown decorations are suggested for main entrance of the house as well as bedroom. In the areas such as children room this colour should be spared. Too much of brown in any other place can lead to stagnation and lost of enthusiasm. But used in mixture with other colours brown spreads nurturing and stabilizing energy.
