Kitchen in RED

A little, some more or a lot? It's true that interior design says a lot about people who live in the house. How much bright colours is too much? How much red is enough? Is a kitchen the place for experimenting with colours, shades & textures? Why not.

Question of purpose

When designers and architects have absolute freedom of work, they create things that people wonder about. Look at the pictures below, it’s a creation of Scandinavian design team Claesson Koivisto Rune. The purpose of this thing is left for the imagination of the viewer: is it big sofa, little room or red playground? Designers say that in their creative work only three things matter : “…to develop, to improve and never to repeat”.

Red colour in Feng shui

Red is a very intense colour and Feng shui rules strongly recommend to apply it wisely. It is better to use red tones in moderate amounts, to have some interior details in red than to paint over the wall in this blaze colour. However, red can affect your home positively if applied to right places.
Red is a symbol of richness, it creates luxurious image to your home. Moreover it provides welcoming atmosphere to your guests. According to Feng shui, red shades in living room or kitchen make those spaces joyful, bring excitement and happiness. Red is also suitable colour for bedroom, but not for children room. If used in wrong place or amount red can provoke anger and be the cause of restlessness. But otherwise, red is colour of sun, joy and life.

Be daring, be different

It’s a public secret known by architects and interior designers. If you want your interior to never get old and look same cool for the years to come - choose classical colours and décor. Not the contemporary furniture, but simple forms and moderate details. But there is that strong minority of people who dare taking risk and seek for other options; they create extravagant, striking or just say, different style of their home.
