Feng shui for your home

Rules of Feng shui provide harmony and beauty to our homes. According to Feng shui, there are five elements : Fire, Earth, Water, Metal and Wood. Every colour belongs to one of the elements and fills the space with different kind of energy. It’s important to use appropriate colours for certain spaces and right directions of the house.
Fire element colours (red, orange, pink, strong yellow) are recommended for the South, Southwest and Northeast areas.
Earth colours (Light Yellow) are to be used in Northeast and Southwest.
Water colours such as blue and black are perfect for East or Southeast.
Metal colours as white and grey are suitable for West and Northwest areas.
Wooden shades (brown, green) are good for spaces in South or East.

According to Feng shui, black colour can boost your career or grow income, that’s why many offices have decorated their interiors with some black details. The meaning of PINK


Pink is sweet colour and according to Feng shui, whenever applied it brings soft and relaxing vibes. Most people associate pink with romance while red is a color for passion. Feng shui rules say that pink can also create passionate atmosphere when applied in darker tones.
It’s not recommended to have lots of pink in the room, because it can lead to physical weakness. Feng shui suggests having pink décor details, furniture or flowers. Red colour in Feng shui

Yellow in Feng shui

From the very beginning, yellow was considered as an imperial colour or colour of power. For a long time it was reserved for the China’s emperor and became a symbol of control.
Now yellow colour is used in children rooms or common family spaces. According to Feng shui, this colour sends the message of warmth, motion and friendliness. People who suffer from depression or have self esteem problems are advised to spend more time in natural sun light, because light and warmth stimulates positive thoughts. The yellow colour in interior does the same thing. However, it is suggested not over-use yellow, too much of this colour in the modern interiors can cause anxiety. Brown colour in Feng shui

According to Feng shui, brown is element of Wood. Along with green it brings health and well being to the house. Brown is perfect colour for places which need more stability or there is lack of security. Thus brown decorations are suggested for main entrance of the house as well as bedroom. In the areas such as children room this colour should be spared. Too much of brown in any other place can lead to stagnation and lost of enthusiasm. But used in mixture with other colours brown spreads nurturing and stabilizing energy.
