Designers & their chairs

This picture was taken almost fifty years ago. The famous designers of that time with their creations. It would be interesting to see picture like that of the new generation and their works. Would it be a lot different? Different forms, younger faces and maybe less colour?

Question of purpose

When designers and architects have absolute freedom of work, they create things that people wonder about. Look at the pictures below, it’s a creation of Scandinavian design team Claesson Koivisto Rune. The purpose of this thing is left for the imagination of the viewer: is it big sofa, little room or red playground? Designers say that in their creative work only three things matter : “…to develop, to improve and never to repeat”.

Monday mornings like that

Imagine early Monday morning, the rain pours down, it's freezing and dark outside. You have to leave your warm bed and get up for work. Is there one thing that would help you to do it less painfully?
I just came across with the most beautiful kitchen pictures ever. It's a creation of Karim Rashid who designs many things from furniture to luxury items. Even thinking about the Monday morning coffee in the kitchen like that makes you awake and ready to go...if not to work, then to the kitchen! More pictures here.

Fancy office of facebook

This office was redesigned by the U.S. based design team Studio o+a, which has almost 20 years of experience in creating interiors for shops, companies and offices. The many spaces of facebook office look very modern but yet very different. It's because recreating the interior designers took time to talk with the employees about their expectations and needs.
